Trawler conversions appear regularly in Pacific yacht delivery work because they tend to keep moving.

Many started life as commercial fishing vessels, workboats or purpose-built passagemakers before being converted for private use. Unlike production yachts that often remain within a single cruising area, trawler conversions are commonly found moving between major Pacific cruising regions over the course of their lives.

A vessel may spend several years in The Pacific before heading to Fiji, continue through French Polynesia, relocate to Hawaii or eventually make its way into Asia. At some point, owners often need a Pacific delivery skipper to bridge the gap between where the boat is and where it needs to be. We are familiar with several trawler types from conversions to Nordhavn and Selene.

That is the reality of Pacific yacht delivery. Boats are bought overseas. Owners relocate. Cruising plans change. The vessel needs moving.
